[SR] Membership

Shelter Rock Church is a multi-ethnic, multi-generational, multi-campus church on Long Island. We exist to lead people into a transforming relationship with Jesus. For almost 80 years, we have grown a missional mentality to reach our communities with the gospel and to join God in the renewal of all things, both locally and globally.

If you are interested in church membership, we know that you have likely been attending our gatherings and we are so glad that you are already a part of our church family!

Membership is an additional commitment and pledge to play a contributing role in what God is doing in and through Shelter Rock Church to be a witness of the gospel, and a light and blessing to the world.

As a brief introduction, here are the steps to membership:

1. Attend our Online Membership Classes
   • our 3C classes - Celebrate, Connect, and Contribute provide information about the history of our church, what it means to have a living relationship with Jesus and other believers, and discovering the gifts and talents God may have deposited in you to bless the church family.
     
     
   • Check back in March for our Spring 2026 Classes.
     
     
2. Baptism 
   • an outward expression of your faith and life with Jesus. If you were already baptized as an adult, you do not need to be baptized again at SR.
     
     
3. Complete a Membership Application 
   • after you register your interest in membership, and we verify that you've completed the 3C's and are baptized, we'll send you a link to the Membership Application; this allows us to get to know you a little better.
     
     
4. Interview with one of the elders or deacons on our church leadership board.
